The 1st Quarter Municipal Youth Development Council (MYDC) Meeting successfully convened last January 17, 2025 at Reception Hall, with the participation of 16 Supreme Student Learner Government (SSLG) Presidents and representatives from various schools in the municipality.
Facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) through the leadership of Municipal Youth Development Officer-Designate Josie G. Cambel, RSW, MSSW, the meeting served as a platform for collaboration and planning among Tapaz youth leaders.
Key highlights of the meeting included:
โข Presentation of the Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP): Discussing strategies and priorities for youth-focused programs and initiatives.
โข Finalization of the 2025 Calendar of Activities: Setting key dates for activities that will promote the active participation of the youth in local governance and community development.
โข Updates on Local and National Youth Organization Registration: Progress on submissions for the National Youth Commission-Youth Organization Registration Program (NYC-YORP).
A significant part of the event was the conferment of Local Registration Certificates and NYC-YORP Certificates to duly recognized youth organizations, affirming their commitment to building empowered and active youth communities.
The meeting highlights the crucial role of the MYDC in shaping and supporting initiatives that address the needs and aspirations of the youth in Tapaz. Through active collaboration between the local government and young leaders, Tapaz continues to foster an environment where the youth can thrive and contribute to the municipalityโs growth.
