The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Camburanan proudly celebrated the annual Linggo ng Kabataan, today, August 9, 2024, with the theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.” The event, titled ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ , emphasized the vital role of the youth in driving sustainable progress through responsible digital engagement.
Representing Mayor Roberto โNonongโ Palomar at the event was EnP Stephen Faeldin, joined by Vice Mayor Hon. Romel Somo, and Barangay Officials led by Hon. Gina Sevilla. SK officials, spearheaded by Hon. Lawrence Patrick Alaban, and the teaching staff of Camburanan National High School, led by April Joy Eslapor, were also present to support the youth.
The program featured two informative sessions aimed at educating and empowering the youth:
๐ฟ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐จ ๐ค๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ก๐๐๐๐ก ๐ฟ๐ง๐ช๐๐จ: Delivered by Police Staff Sergeant Lyn Gapi from PNP Tapaz, this session highlighted the risks associated with illegal drug use, reinforcing the importance of making informed and healthy choices.
๐๐๐๐ฃ-๐๐ฎ๐ฎ-๐๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฎ ๐ผ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ: Public Health students from the University of the Philippines-Visayas led a discussion on the issue of teenage pregnancy, offering insights and strategies for prevention.
In addition to these talks, the event also included the distribution of school supplies to local students, demonstrating the SK’s commitment to supporting educational development.
The SK Camburanan remains dedicated to empowering the youth by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the digital world responsibly and contribute to sustainable community development.
