About the Office

The Office of the Municipal Vice Mayor serves as the legislative office that provides leadership to the Sangguniang Bayan and assists in promoting responsive, transparent, and accountable local governance. It supports the legislative process, facilitates policy formulation, and strengthens collaboration between the legislative and executive branches in advancing the welfare and development of the Municipality.

Mandate

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7160, the Municipal Vice Mayor serves as the Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Bayan, ensures the orderly conduct of legislative proceedings, and exercises such powers and performs such duties and functions as provided by law.

Mission

To provide effective legislative leadership through responsive governance, sound policymaking, and efficient public service that promote the general welfare and sustainable development of the Municipality of Tapaz.

Services Provided

Presides over regular and special sessions of the Sangguniang Bayan.

Provides legislative leadership and direction to the Sangguniang Bayan.

Facilitates the enactment of ordinances and adoption of resolutions responsive to local needs.

Refers proposed legislative measures to the appropriate committees for study and recommendation.

Oversees the conduct of public hearings, consultations, and legislative inquiries.

Signs approved ordinances, resolutions, and other legislative documents as Presiding Officer.

Exercises the powers and performs the duties of the Municipal Mayor in cases of temporary vacancy or inability to perform official functions, as provided by law.

Represents the Municipality in official functions, meetings, and activities as authorized or required.
