In a united effort to bolster local climate and disaster resilience, a significant conference took place at Mezzo Hotel in Cebu City from November 21 to 23, 2023.

Attended by Municipal Mayor Hon. Roberto โ€œNonongโ€ Palomar, OIC Administrator Milagros โ€œChayโ€ Palomar, SB Member Hon. Loreto Gadong, MENRO Engr. Neriza Pacenio, and other National Government Agencies (NGA), the conference served as a pivotal platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Meaningful policy discussions transpired, addressing the integration of climate and disaster resilience into local governance structures and decision-making processes.

Cutting-edge technologies and innovations designed to enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities were showcased, offering municipalities valuable insights into future resilience initiatives.

The conference emphasized the importance of community involvement, exploring ways to empower citizens and promote grassroots resilience efforts.

The Local Climate and Disaster Resilience Conference concluded with a shared commitment to implementing the insights gained during the event. Participants left equipped with actionable strategies to strengthen their municipalities against the challenges posed by climate change and natural disasters.
