The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recently conducted a comprehensive two-day Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO) seminar in Tapaz, focusing on empowering officials from 13 barangays. These barangays include Acuna, Artuz, Bag-ong Barrio, Buri, Camburanan, Candelaria, Carida, Cristina, Daan Banwa, Daan Norte, Daan Sur, Garcia, and Gebio-an.
The seminar was graced by esteemed DILG personnel, including Provincial Director Cheryl P. Tacda, along with LGOOs Charmaine Villareal, Vito K. Navara, Julie De Pedro, Joy Rino Balad-on, and Roberto Horneja. Over the two days, various crucial topics were covered, including the Basics of RA 7160, Barangay Development Plan (BDP), Barangay Budget, Public Ethics and Accountability, Barangay Agenda for Governance and Development, among others.
Mayor Palomar, recognizing the importance of empowering barangay officials with the necessary knowledge and skills, emphasized the significance of the BNEO seminar. He highlighted the role of barangay leaders in upholding good governance and ensuring the effective delivery of public services to constituents. Additionally, Mayor Palomar expressed his gratitude to the DILG for their continued support and commitment to capacitating local officials, which ultimately contributes to the overall development and progress of Tapaz.
