the Joint Meeting of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC) and the Local Council Against Trafficking of Women and Children (LCAT VAWC) was convened at the Training Hall, Tapaz Government Center.
The meeting was attended by all members of the MCPC, headed by OIC Mayor Jovy Gialen. The agenda included the reading and approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, members’ reports and updates, the status of the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), the 2024 calendar of activities for MCPC and LCAT-VAWC, and updates on the local children’s code.
Discussions during the meeting focused on ensuring the protection and welfare of children in Tapaz, as well as strategies to combat trafficking of women and children. The collaboration between MCPC and LCAT VAWC underscores the LGU’s commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of children and vulnerable individuals in the community.
