The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tapaz recently underwent the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2024 evaluation. The Regional Assessment Team, led by Lynette Urquiola with RAT Leader Jeezalyn Khey Fuentes and CSO Rozel Langurayan as the focal person, conducted the evaluation on June 10, 2024.
During the evaluation, various aspects of the LGUโs operations, governance practices, and service delivery were meticulously assessed to ensure adherence to the standards of good local governance.
In his statement, Mayor Roberto Palomar emphasized, “We are not after the formal recognition symbolized by seals and certificates. Our true motivation lies in the unwavering commitment to service that is deeply embedded in our hearts. This dedication transcends the need for external validation; it is the internal drive to serve with humility and integrity that guides our actions.”
The SGLG evaluation aims to recognize and incentivize local governments that demonstrate excellence in key governance areas, including financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, health, and education, among others.
The LGU Tapaz team expressed their gratitude to the Regional Assessment Team for their thorough and fair evaluation. They remain committed to continuous improvement and to serving the Tapaznon community with dedication and transparency.
