The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Project Development and Management Section conducted the final inspection of two key infrastructure projects in the Barangays of Abangay and Apero, Tapaz. These projects are part of the End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) initiative aimed at fostering peace and development in conflict-affected areas.
The inspection covered two road concreting projects:
Barangay Abangay: A 580-meter road, vital for improving access to essential services and supporting the local agricultural economy.
Barangay Apero: A 549-meter road, enhancing transportation links and benefiting local residents, including farmers and indigenous communities.
The inspection team was led by LGOO V Erwin D. Bonifacio, Chief of the Project Development and Management Section, along with Engr. Emman Phil G. Gicana (Engineer III), Engr. Lou Amiel V. Alsagon (Project Evaluation Officer I), and the Municipal Engineer of Tapaz, Victorio Jimenez, with the assistance of Dionesio Gadong.
These infrastructure projects are part of the broader ELCAC program, which aims to promote inclusive development and empower communities in former conflict zones by providing essential services and infrastructure improvements. Through these initiatives, the DILG and the local government of Tapaz reaffirm their commitment to peace, security, and sustainable development for the people of Barangays Abangay and Apero.
Mayor Roberto Palomar expressed his gratitude to the DILG team and emphasized the significance of these projects in ensuring that the benefits of development reach even the most remote areas of Tapaz.
