Promoting the Idea of Staying Active and Engaged through Continuous Learning and Capability Building
In line with the theme โPromote the Idea of Staying Active and Engaged through Continuous Learning and Capability Building,โ last September 13, 2024, the Municipality of Tapaz held a Capability Building Program for senior citizens, which brought together 58 Presidents of Senior Citizens and Barangay Kagawads who serve as chairs for senior citizen affairs.
The event, organized to empower senior citizens and encourage them to remain active and engaged in their communities, was graced by notable officials. Representing Mayor Roberto Palomar, Ma’am Milagros Chay Palomar attended the event alongside Vice Mayor Romel Somo, SB Bob Gardose, Cristina Gicole, the Municipal Population Officer (MPO) Designate, OSCA Head Esmeralda Dayalo, and Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP) President Romualdo Garbo.
The program featured engaging activities, including games and a wellness program, designed to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Senior citizens were encouraged to participate in various fun activities that fostered camaraderie and promoted a healthy lifestyle, ensuring that they remain valuable members of the community.
The local government of Tapaz, through this initiative, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the well-being of its elderly citizens by providing opportunities for growth, learning, and wellness. The program emphasizes that age should not be a barrier to remaining productive and active in society.
