Today, πΆππππππ 24, 2024, Commission on Audit (COA) headed by Mr. Emmanuel Catalan led the rollout of the Exit Conference for the 21 audited barangays for Audit Year CY 2024-2025 held at Tapaz Civic Center.
This event was facilitated by the BOST/IAS Office headed by Mr. Aldrin Falco, CPA, attended by Punong Barangays, Barangay Kagawads (Committee on Appropriations), Barangay Treasurers, and Barangay Secretary’s.
The audited barangays included Abangay, AcuΓ±a, Agcoccoc, Aglinab, Camburanan, Cristina, Daan Banwa, Daan Norte, Garcia, Gebio – an, Initan, Lagdungan, Mabini, Malitbog, Rizal Sur, Sant Antonio, San Julian, Switch, Tabon, Tacayan, and Taft.
The Exit Conference served as a vital step in the COA’s auditing process, ensuring that local government units (LGUs) are held accountable for the management of public funds. During the conference, the COA team presented its assessment of the financial transactions and records of each barangay. The findings shed light on both areas of compliance and those requiring improvement, especially in terms of proper documentation, procurement processes, and financial management.
Aside from the barangay financial transactions and related accounts, audit observations and corresponding recommendations, as well as the implementation of the prior years’ audit recommendations were also tackled.
This conference underscores the crucial role of COA in maintaining the integrity of public service by ensuring that government funds are spent effectively and in accordance with the law.
