Captured, last January 17, 2025 The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Information Dissemination Meeting was organized by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA). This important gathering was focused on addressing the concerns of the affected landowners within the submerged area and the farmer-beneficiaries of the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project ( PRBIDP).

The primary objective of this meeting was to provide a comprehensive overview of the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project ( PRBIDP). This project holds great significance for our community, as it not only involves infrastructure development but also has the potential to enhance agricultural productivity, improve water resource management, and uplift the lives of our local farmers.The Barangays involved was, Brgy. Abangay, Brgy. Aglinab, Brgy. AcuΓ±a, Brgy. Nayawan, Brgy. Lahug, Brgy. Siya, Brgy. Buri, Brgy. Daan Sur, Brgy. Tacayan

Key representatives from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Regional Office VI Irrigation Management Office Atty. Red Gabriel Convocar Ma’am Rebecca F. Grana, Jessa A. Resol , Lucy Grace B. Improgo and Dominador B. Dela Cruz also the NCIP tapaz Ricardo Camarig Jr. ,DENR Rodrigo Diego Jr. led the discussions. They provided important updates on the project’s current status and outlined the steps for the Right-of-Way activities. This direct engagement helped clarify how the project would unfold and what it meant for the residents involved, fostering transparency and active community participation.

The said event was graced by our Municipal Mayor Roberto O. Palomar.

With this campaign, the NIA team emphasized their commitment to ensuring the project’s smooth implementation while addressing any concerns of the affected individuals. The IEC was a crucial step in preparing for the construction phase, which aims to improve irrigation in the area and support local agriculture.
