MANDATE                     Formulate measures and provide technical assistance, support to the

delivery of basic services, and provision of adequate facilities relative to

                                                agricultural services, and develops plans and strategies on agricultural

                                                programs and projects (Local Government Code, 1991)

VISION                        The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist shall lead the LGU Offices in

               The exact location of Tapaz lies within the latitude of 11o09 to 11o19’42”and the longitude of 122o11’25” to 122o34’45”.  The municipality of Tapaz is in Region 6 situated at the centermost of the Island of Panay in the province of Capiz.  It is bounded on the North by the municipality of Dumalag and Jamindan, on the west by the municipality of Jamindan and Libacao, Aklan, and in the south by the municipality of Lambunao and Calinog, Iloilo and on the east by the municipality of Dumalag, Capiz and Bingawan, Iloilo.

Climatic and Soil Conditions

Tapaz has Type 1 climate with 2 pronounced dry and wet season.  Rain period from June to September and dry season for 3-6 months.  Tapaz has 3 types of soils namely: San Manuel and Alimodian Clay Loams and Undifferentiated Mountain Soils.
