A collaborative work between the DSWD 4P’s and DA- BSWM to help the 4P’s IP Farmers of upland barangays of the Municipality of Tapaz.

LOOK! Captured today, June 27, 2023, is the training on contour farming integrated in abaca production held at Civic Center of Barangay Artuz, Tapaz, Capiz.

This training was led by Senior Consultant of Municipal Agriculture Office Engr. Mary Joy Ayupan together with MAO personnel and was participated by 4P’s IP Farmers from Barangays Artuz, Agcococ and Tabon. After the training, on-site practice was done on which the participants used A-Frame and T-Frame technique.

The collaborative work is seen as an effort to help farmer beneficiaries beyond the cash-for-work activity but to be a sustainable initiative geared towards economic viability.

Each beneficiary will be given 25 pieces of healthy abaca suckers on which they will plant these observing the theoretical concepts of contour farming.
