The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region VI together with Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office distributed Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) financial assistance to victims affected by Severe Tropical Storm (STS) “Paeng” on July 10, 2023 held at Tapaz, Civic Center.

Disaster-affected families received the ECT financial assistance from DSWD Field Office Region VI which will help repair their damaged houses.
During payout, the DSWD was able to provide PHP 692,190 cash assistance to the 113 beneficiaries from 17 Barangays. 89 families partially damaged houses, received PHP 5,070.00 and 24 totally damaged received PHP 10,140.00 each.
The identification of totally and partially damaged was based on the assessment and validation of houses conducted by DSWD together with Local Government Unit (LGU).
The DSWD Disaster Response Management Bureau and the DSWD Field Office Region VI had the families with damaged houses in areas declared under state of calamity were prioritized for ECT cash assistance.
Present during the payout were MSWDO personnel headed by Ms. Josie G. Cambel, DSWD Personnel; PDO I Penny Lane Ybanez and AA1 Ellaine Palacios.
