Tapaz, Capiz – Aiming to empower individuals with skills that can lead to sustainable livelihoods, the LGU Tapaz, in collaboration with TESDA, conducted a skills training program on Consumer Electronics Appliances Repair. The training, which led to Electronic Product Assembly and Servicing (EPAS) NC II, was specifically tailored for 19 trainees who are immediate family members of persons with disabilities (PWD).
The training was facilitated by TESDA personnel, including Arlie Araรฑa, Focal Person for Community-Based Training, Ernesto Esteva, Supervisor Cluster, and Leo Camaniel, EPAS Trainer. Throughout the program, participants learned essential skills in repairing consumer electronics, providing them with a valuable skill set for potential employment or entrepreneurship opportunities.
Mayor Roberto Palomar emphasized the importance of such skills training programs in empowering marginalized sectors of the community. He highlighted the role of education and skills development in creating inclusive growth and providing equal opportunities for all members of society.
The training was successfully facilitated by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) under the leadership of Josie Cambel, in coordination with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) led by Mary Jane Delantar. The LGU Tapaz remains committed to providing skills training and development programs that uplift the lives of its constituents, especially those in vulnerable sectors.
