DSWD Kalahi Cidss and LGU Tapaz turned over the newly concreted access road at Barangay Roxas-Daan Sur, Tapaz, Capiz, amounting to P 16,436,727.27.
The event was graced by regional DSWD and Kalahi-Cidss staff, including Division Chief Promotive Services, Judith Barredo, Deputy Regional Program Manager, Engr. Selvirio Von Maguad III, CDO III, Reyky Pelonia, Social Marketing Officer, Maricar Calubiran, and RPMO personnel.
During the inauguration and turn-over, Mayor Roberto “Nonong” Palomar delivered a speech, emphasizing the significance of the project for the community. He highlighted the improved access and safety for residents, particularly farmers, IPs, teachers, students, and the entire community. Mayor Palomar also showed his appreciation by giving P 100,000 each to 3 schools for their active participation and support.
The sub-project beneficiaries, including upland barangays and IP communities, will greatly benefit from the concreted access roads.
The DSWD personnel were deeply moved by the students of Roxas Elementary School and Roxas Farm School, as well as by some of the testimonies of the IP community, showcasing the impact of the project on their lives.
The event highlighted the community spirit and unity that led to the successful completion of the project, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Kalahi-Cidss program in empowering communities and improving lives.
