Releasing of 431 Palay Seeds to Barangay San Miguel Ilaya
The Municipality of Tapaz, through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), facilitated the distribution of 431 palay seeds to 271 Farmers of Barangay San Miguel Ilaya as part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) program.
The distribution was conducted in coordination with the Department of Agriculture (DA) to support local farmers in enhancing their rice production. The RCEF program aims to increase the competitiveness of the Philippine rice industry by providing farmers with access to high-quality seeds, machinery, and training.
The seeds, which are of high quality and certified by the DA, were distributed to farmers in Barangay San Miguel Ilaya. Each farmer received six packs of palay seeds, totaling 431 packs distributed in the barangay.
Mayor Roberto βNonongβ Palomar expressed his gratitude to the DA for their continuous support to the farmers of Tapaz. He emphasized the importance of providing farmers with the necessary resources to improve their productivity and income.
The distribution of palay seeds is part of the municipality’s commitment to supporting its agricultural sector and ensuring food security for its residents.
