Tapaznon farmers are celebrating as 650 of them have just received a total of P 2,500,000 in indemnity claims from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC). These claims are part of the insurance coverage for their crops and animals, providing them with financial support in times of loss or damage.
The event was attended by Mayor Roberto βNonongβ Palomar, Maam Chay Roa Palomar, Vice Mayor Hon. Romel Somo, Hon. Regina Fancubila, SB member Committee on Agriculture, and MAO personnel led by Jhel Giner, OIC MAO. PCIC personnel, headed by John John Bermio, were also present to facilitate the distribution of the claims.
These indemnity claims are crucial for farmers, as they provide a safety net against losses due to natural disasters or other unforeseen events. This support helps ensure the continuity of their livelihoods and encourages them to continue farming despite the inherent risks involved.
