The 1st National Congress on Adoption and Alternative Child Care, themed โBuilding a LeaGUe of AMPON Heroes for Children,โ was successfully held at Harolds Evotel, Cebu City. This landmark event brought together the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) and Local Government Units (LGUs) from Visayas Regions VI, VII, and VIII, represented by their Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and heads of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs).
The congress served as a vital platform for meeting, discussion, collaboration, and partnership formation between the NACC and LGUs. The primary focus was to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of adoption and alternative child care programs and services in local communities.

Mayor Roberto Palomar remarked on the significance of the event, stating, “Through our collective efforts and shared vision, we are building a league of AMPON heroesโindividuals and institutions dedicated to the well-being and future of every child. The partnerships and strategies developed here will significantly enhance our capabilities to provide the highest standard of care and support to children awaiting adoption and those in alternative care.”
