The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tapaz, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully conducted an Orientation and Workshop on the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program last August 15-16, 2024, at the Tapaz Civic Center.
The two-day event was designed to strengthen the protection of children across various barangays by equipping local leaders with the necessary knowledge and skills. The workshop featured expert insights from Resource Persons Ms. Lisa Camacho, Social Welfare Officer III from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD FO VI), and Mr. Richard Sevilla, Social Welfare Officer II.
The event was graced by the presence of OIC Mayor Engr. Neriza Pacenio, who expressed her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the municipality. Attendees included members of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) from different barangays, who are on the frontlines of implementing child protection measures in their communities.
The MSWDO, under the leadership of Ms. Josie Cambel, played a pivotal role in organizing and facilitating the workshop. The office remains dedicated to advocating for and enhancing child protection initiatives within Tapaz.
This workshop marks a significant step forward in the LGUโs ongoing efforts to build safer and more nurturing environments for children, ensuring that they grow up in communities that prioritize their rights and welfare.
