The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) successfully launched the Local Governance Summit 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on August 22-23, 2024.
Held under the theme βLGUs sa Bagong Pilipinas: Smart. Resilient. Driven.β the Summit aimed to equip local government units (LGUs) with the necessary tools and knowledge to meet the evolving demands of modern governance.
The event was graced by Mayor Roberto O. Palomar, Municipal Administrator Milagros βChayβ Palomar, SB Member Hon. Loreto Gadong, and PDO IV Gelli Danielle Gelilang, who represented Tapaz with pride and commitment to progressive governance.
With support from international organizations and national agencies, the Summit emphasized the vital role of LGUs in promoting sustainable development and enhancing public service delivery.
By building the capacity of local governments, the Summit envisions a future where LGUs are not just efficient service providers but also key drivers of sustainable growth and development.
