Jesus Peralta, a 32-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Roberto Palomar after being successfully rescued from a difficult situation in Saudi Arabia. The rescue was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Mayor Palomar and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Peralta, who had been facing challenges in his employment abroad, reached out to local authorities for assistance. Mayor Palomar, known for his dedication to the welfare of his constituents, promptly coordinated with OWWA to ensure that Peralta received the help he needed. Thanks to their swift action, Peralta was able to safely return home to his family in Tapaz.
In a personal visit to the Mayors office, Peralta expressed his deep appreciation for the support and assistance that made his rescue possible. “Kung hindi dahil kay Mayor Palomar at sa OWWA, baka hanggang ngayon nasa peligro pa ako. Malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanila,” he said.
Mayor Palomar reiterated his commitment to helping Tapaznons in need, especially those working abroad who face difficult circumstances. “Our OFWs are modern-day heroes, and it’s our duty to protect and support them whenever they need help. I am glad that we were able to assist Jesus Peralta in his time of need.”
