Today, October 29, 2024, The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Capiz, led by Livelihood Development Specialist Mary Chris Medina and Labor Employment Officer Neri Jane Mendoza III, conducted a comprehensive livelihood orientation for local organizations in Tapaz. The orientation highlighted DOLEโs Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), which aims to uplift communities through sustainable livelihood support.
Among the organizations represented were the Tatmoda, TM Toda, Taroma, Pasay-an Farmers Association, Mr. Ariel Gamboa, Famati, and Tavega, each eager to gain insights into DOLEโs livelihood programs and explore sustainable income-generating opportunities.
The orientation covered the three key components of DOLEโs livelihood program: Kabuhayan Formation, designed to support the creation of new livelihood ventures; Kabuhayan Enhancement, intended to strengthen existing businesses; and Kabuhayan Restoration, aimed at helping communities recover lost livelihoods due to unforeseen circumstances.
Hon. Mayor Roberto โNonongโ Palomar graced the event, emphasizing the vital role of livelihood programs in empowering communities and enhancing self-sufficiency among Tapaz residents. In his message, he highlighted how initiatives like this can transform lives, reduce poverty, and encourage growth within community associations. Mayor Palomar stated, โThese programs are not just opportunitiesโthey are pathways for building a better future, supporting families, and fostering resilience within our communities.โ
