Captured ! Last November 08, 2024, The Municipal Social Welfare Development Office held the first day of Basics of Peer Facilitation with the theme “Break the prevalence and the violence Protecting children creating a safe Philippines”, focusing on the essential topic of Understanding the ” Need” of a Peer Facilitator, Compentencies of an Effective Peer Facilitator and How to be a Peer Facilitator. This event provided a platform for peer facilitators and officers from the local school organizations to learn and develop crucial skills for effective peer support. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to connect, engage in discourse, and build a foundation towards a more supportive environment within the school.
The event was Facilitated by MSWDO headed by Ms. Josie G. Cambel, RSW, MSSW In a captivating segment, Ms. Princess Latumbo and Frances Aira Falco illuminated the ethical dimensions of facilitation. Their insights emphasized the importance of integrity, confidentiality, and respect, laying the groundwork for trust and collaboration within the group. The ensuing dialogue sparked vibrant exchanges, allowing participants to reflect on their own ethical challenges and triumphs.
Also, Municipal Mayor Hon. Roberto O. Palomar graced the activity.
As the day unfolded, the assembly thrived on shared experiences, allowing facilitators to express their strengths and challenges. Breakout sessions featured role-playing exercises that fostered active listening and feedback, energizing the virtual space.
By dayβs end, SSLG participants from different schools emerged inspired and equipped to make meaningful impacts in their communities, highlighting the power of shared strengths and the transformative essence of collaborative learning.
