The Municipality of Tapaz is taking proactive steps to enhance its Gender and Development (GAD) programs with the preparation and approval of its 2026 GAD Plan and Budget. The meeting, held on January 14, 2025, was facilitated by GAD Focal Person Engr. Neriza Pacenio, together with the active participation of the members of the GAD team.
OIC Mayor Arch. Janine Jamilarin graced the event, underscoring the local governmentโs commitment to promoting gender-responsive policies and programs.
The agenda of the meeting included:
1. Presentation of the 2026 GAD Budget: Proposed financial allocations for gender-focused initiatives for the upcoming year were outlined to ensure resources are strategically utilized.
2. Review of the 2025 GAD Plan and Budget: The team evaluated the ongoing programs and activities, assessing their effectiveness and areas for improvement.
3. Formulation of the 2026 GAD Plan and Budget: Comprehensive strategies and programs were drafted to address the evolving needs of the community, with an emphasis on gender equality, women empowerment, and inclusive development.
OIC Mayor Jamilarin commended the GAD team for their dedication and emphasized the importance of integrating gender-responsive approaches into all municipal programs. She highlighted that the 2026 GAD Plan and Budget will serve as a blueprint for achieving a more inclusive and equitable community.
The GAD focal team remains steadfast in its mission to address gender-related issues and promote the welfare of all residents in Tapaz. Through this plan, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to creating an environment where every individual, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute to the communityโs development.
